Location Policies

Additional Drivers

For an extra daily fee, additional drivers can be added at the time of rental. The primary renter and any authorized additional drivers must be present at the time of rental. Any additional drivers must qualify under all rental qualifications, to include a valid driver's license and meet the age requirements. Rental agreement must be signed by all authorized drivers. All additional drivers must be at least 25 years of age. The additional driver fee is $13 per day, per driver.

ADDITIONAL AUTHORIZED DRIVERS FOR VISION IMPAIRED RENTERS
A traveling companion who will serve as a driver for the visually impaired renter will be authorized at no additional charge. Drivers must meet our age requirements and possess a valid driver's license. Please advise the York representative of the companion driver at the time of rental. Both must be present at the time of the transaction.

Disabled Drivers: **Reservations to request disability equipment should be placed only by emailing las@yorkcarrental.com.
Hand controls are provided at no additional cost. However, availability of special equipment must be verified before the reservation can be confirmed.
If you require special equipment to operate the vehicle, please contact us las@yorkcarrental.com Requests must be made 10 days in advance. We will process your request and send a confirmation response within 10 days after verifying availability with the renting location.

After Hours Returns

After hours returns are permitted in most instances, please contact the location directly for details. Customer can fill out contract and drop keys inside the drop box located at the location. Lock the vehicle and place the keys and contract in the key drop box. Don’t forget to remove all your belongings from the vehicle prior to returning the keys. A vehicle that is returned after hours will not be checked in until the next business day. If returning after hours when a location is closed, the customer is responsible for the vehicle until the satisfactory check in of the rental vehicle the next business day.

Rental Grace Period - Rental is based on a 24-hour period. The customer receives a 29-minute grace period. If the customer keeps the vehicle after this time, an hourly rate will apply from minute one.

Coverages

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not insurance and not mandatory. If you accept full CDW by your initials on the rental document at the daily rate, for each full or partial day that the car is rented to you, and the car is operated in accordance with the agreement, we assume all loss or damage to the car except, if permitted by law, for lost, damaged or stolen keys or remote entry devices, towing or tire service unless related to an accident, or recovery of the car if stolen, and except by your amount of responsibility, if any, specified on the rental document. If you do not accept CDW, you owe all loss or damage to the car. If you choose to rely on your own auto policy please bring proof of insurance. The renter is financially responsible for all damage not covered under the liability policy including, but not limited to, the YORK rental vehicles full value. Liability insurance protects you against claims for injury you cause to third persons on their property. Liability insurance does not cover injury to you or damage to the rented vehicle. State and country laws determine whether your personal auto liability insurance or our liability insurance will pay for injuries you cause to others while driving our vehicle. Canadian liablity insruance is not accepted.
Supplemental Liability Insurance is an optional coverage that protects the renter against third party liability claims as a result of an accident while the renter was operating the rental auto. SLI provides excess coverage over the underlying insurance required in the executed and signed rental agreement. SLI DOES NOT PROVIDE PRIMARY LIABILITYCOVERAGE TO THE RENTEE. This coverage provides renter liability covers of $1,000,000 in excess of the limits of liability as a secondary coverage. Supplemental Liability insurance protects you against claims for injury you cause to third persons on their property. Liability insurance does not cover injury to you or damage to the rented vehicle. State and country laws determine whether your personal auto liability insurance or our liability insurance will pay for injuries you cause to others while driving our vehicle.
Personal Accident Insurance is an optional coverage that provides the renter with Accidental Death, Accidental Medical Expense, and Travel Assistance while the renter is in, boarding, or alighting the rental vehicle. Personal Effects Insurance, also an optional coverage, provides limited coverage from loss or damage to the renter’s personal belongings caused by theft, damage, or accident to your rental vehicle. Coverage includes: Accidental Death Benefit to the renter of $100,000 USD | Accidental Death Benefit to passenger of $10,000. | Accident Medical Expense & Ambulance Fee of $1,000. Coverage for PEC included coverage for personal belongings in the rental vehicle up to $525 per person. PAI/PEI is sold as a package only.

Cross-border Restrictions

Vehicles are only allowed to travel with the state of Nevada. Travel into any other state, Mexico or Canada is prohibited. Cars my not be driven off road.

Driving Restrictions

Vehicles cannot leave the state of Nevada. Vehicles are tracked. Those vehicles that are driven outside of state lines may be charged up to $5,000 USD plus taxes and fees. Any out of state toll violations or traffic fines will be charged and administrative fee of up to $75.00 USD plus taxes and fees. Cars may not be driven off-road. Car may not be used for delivery service, Uber, Lyft, ride share services, or ride hail services.

Financial Policy

Major credit cards are accepted when issued in the renter’s name.

The credit card must have the same name as the renter's driver's license. The following are accepted forms of payment:
Visa/MasterCard/American Express/Discover/Diners Club Intl

At the time of pick up, driver must present a valid driver's license and credit card in the driver's name. All drivers must have a safe driving record. At the time of rental, we'll require a credit card hold of total estimated charges. This is in addition to the cost of the rental. The renter may be subject to a credit check or present additional identification. Acceptable forms of additional identification are: Valid passport or travel visa, military identification, birth certificate, marriage license, ATM card with customer name printed on face of card, health care identification card with customer’s name printed on face of card or company/college/university identification with a photograph. In some cases, the renter may be required to present an alternate credit card.

CREDIT CARD HOLD: We will request an authorization on your charge card for the estimated rental charges. Rentals will require an authorization hold of the estimated rental charges plus $250.00 USD for Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard, Fullsize, Premium, Intermediate SUVs and Minivans. If you are renting a Standard SUV, Fullsize SUV, Premium SUV, Luxury SUV, and Passenger Vans an authorization hold of the estimated rental charges plus $450 will be held. While this hold is in place, the funds will not be available for your use. When the rental is over, we will process the reversal, but the bank may take time to post it back to the account.

DEBIT CARD: This location does not accept debit cards.

THIRD PARTY PRE-PAID RESERVATIONS: You must retain your reservation confirmation number as it is necessary for modification. Your credit card will be charged upon reservation confirmation. Method of prepayment toward your rental may not be changed after confirmation. The same credit card used to complete an online prepaid reservation must be presented at the rental pick-up counter as a form of identification. A prepaid charge card is not accepted for this required hold and in case of reservation with non-US currency, a credit card with same currency of reservation with equivalent USD amount would be required.

Local Traveller Restrictions

Local renters, who are defined as a renter with a drivers license from the state of Nevada, require a verification process which may include verifying personal information such as home phone number, address and/or employment. Supporting information can be a current utility bill, recent bank statement and /or pay stub. York vehicles are not permitted outside of the state of Nevada.

Mileage Limitations

York Car Rental rates come with unlimited mileage within the state of Nevada. Vehicles are prohibited from traveling outside of Nevada. If vehicle leaves the state of Nevada renter may be subject to mileage charges and additional fees.

Other

Cancellation Policy: For reservations booked directly with York you may cancel your reservation up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up time. If your reservation was confirmed through another provider (booking site, outside source, etc.), please use the same source to cancel your reservation. Some providers (booking site, outside source, etc.) may charge for the cancellation of a reservation if not cancelled within a specific period of time. Cancellation of a reservation directly thru York when confirmed thru another provider, may not relieve your responsibility with that provider. To alleviate such charges (cancellation fee or penalty) check with the provider and cancel the reservation directly with the provider.

No Smoking Policy:
York has initiated an enhanced inspection process to help ensure a pleasant rental experience for all. Each vehicle will be confirmed ""smoke-free"" when it is provided to a customer. Upon its return, it will be inspected. If it is determined that the vehicle must be cleaned of smoke odor and residue, the renter will be assessed a fee of up to $450.00.

Grace Period:
Rental is based on a 24-hour period.  The customer receives a 29-minute grace period.  If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time, an hourly rate will apply from minute one.

Reservation Holds:
If you anticipate any travel delays please contact us at las@yorkcarrental.com. Prepaid Reservations will be held for 8 hours after reserved time or closing time, whichever comes first. Non-Prepaid Reservations will be held for 4 hours after reserved time or closing time, whichever comes first.

Pick-up Instructions

Upon arrival at Denver Intl Airport and collecting your luggage at Baggage Claim on the 5th floor, exit through doors 508-510 on the West side of the airport or doors 509-511 on the East side to Island 4 where co-branded Shuttle will be awaiting your arrival. The co-branded Shuttle has the York Car Rental logo and will bring you to the rental counter and your car. Our address is 18190 E. 81st Ave, Commerce City, CO 80022.

Plate Pass

***Daily Tolling Service*** You (the Renter) are responsible for all tolls accessed during the rental. This rental location offers an option for pre-paid tolling service. If you accept the toll service option at the time of rental. You will be charged a convenience for each day of the rental regardless of the number of tolls incurred. You may use the express lanes an unlimited number of times during this rental, and we will handle processing and reconciliation for toll payments plus the cost of the toll(s). Daily Tolling service does not cover moving violations, citations, or parking tickets (“Violations”) and these will result in a $40 admin fee per Violation plus the cost of the tickets/taxes fees. Copies of tolls, violations, citations, or parking tickets can be requested support@yorkcarrental.com. If you decline the Daily Tolling service, and you agree not to drive through automated express toll lanes. Customers who do not purchase the daily tolling service for their rental vehicle but use cashless toll lanes without another payment method approved by the toll authority, will be charged an administrative fee of $15 per day, plus the cost of each toll at the toll authority’s highest undiscounted rate ($90 max admin fee per rental agreement) and any applicable taxes fees. **You are responsible for all parking citations, red light and bus lane tickets, photo enforcement fees, fines for toll evasion, and other fines, fees, and penalties (each a “Violation”) assessed against you, us, or the Vehicle during the rental. If we are notified by the charging authorities that we may be responsible for a Violation, you understand that we or our Provider may either: (a) transfer liability to you by providing your rental information to the charging authority and charge you an administrative fee of up to $40 per Violation and any applicable taxes fees; or (b) pay the Violation on your behalf and charge your payment card on file for the Violation, taxes, and an administrative fee of up to $40 per Violation and any applicable taxes & fees.

Refueling Policy

Fuel Policy:
OPTION #1: PREPAY FUEL OPTION (BUY A TANK)
Vehicle is rented with a full tank. You may purchase a full tank of fuel at the time of rental and bring the vehicle back with fuel at any level. There will be no credit issued for unused fuel.
OPTION #2: FUEL SERVICE OPTION (WE FILL THE TANK)
Vehicle is rented with a full tank. You may bring the vehicle back full to avoid a charge or York will refuel your vehicle based on the miles driven or level of the tank. A refueling service fee will apply per gallon.

Renter Qualifications

For the United States, U.S. Territories, or Canada, The customers who reside in the U.S., U.S, Territories, or Canada must present a valid, Full, unexpired government-issued Driver’s license which includes a photograph of the customer. Renters from other than the United States & Canada Must have a valid driver’s license from the renters/driver's country of origin with the English alphabet, a valid passport, and a valid international driver's license if the driver's license of origin is not in the English alphabet. Other requirements include Photocopies of Driver’s Licenses and Learner’s Permits not accepted. Temporary Driver’s Licenses may be refused if the renting location cannot verify the customer’s identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional Government-issued identification may be required. Digital licenses are not accepted. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. Renters must be 25 years of age with a valid driver's license and a major credit card in his/her own name. Renters 21 through 24 years of age with a major credit card in his/her name may rent an Economy car, Compact car, Intermediate card, Standard car, Full-size car or an Intermediate SUV with an additional $25.00 per day surcharge plus any applicable taxes & fees.
