Coverages

We offer a loss damage waiver (LDW) of AED 45/D on all vehicles and AED 99/D on luxury and premium vehicles. There are exclusions from LDW including comprehensive losses such as fire, theft, vandalism, flood, hail, or acts of God. Please read the 2nd page of the Rental Agreement for a complete list of exclusions. If you choose to use your personal automobile policy it must state that it is valid in the UAE. Please note that Insurance cards will not satisfy the requirement unless providing an insurance declaration page stating a transferable coverage, limits, territories, and deductible amount if applicable. Some credit cards provide Collision damage waiver coverage.

Driving Restrictions

We do not allow our cars to be taken beyond the domestic or international border of the UAE. Vehicles taken will be limited to 200kms/day, 1400kms/week, 3000kms/month, or a maximum of 3000kms per rental. The additional kilometer is charged at AED 2/Kilometer driven during the entire rental in excess of allowance. In order to take our vehicles out of the UAE, a written agency’s authorization must be obtained.

Financial Policy

At the time of the rental, we require a deposit of AED 1000 To AED 3000 depending on the contract position. These funds will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 25 business days or more depending on your bank to become available. All balance due on the rental must be paid in full at the time of rental pick-up. We do not accept stored value/prepaid/gift cards, electronic cards, international-issued debit (Interac), or cash deposits. We accept Visa and MasterCard from major banks.

All yorkcarrental.com Pay Now reservations are non-refundable. If you cancel your yorkcartental.com Pay Now reservation, you will forfeit the full amount of your reservation payment. At the time of pick-up, you must present the same credit card/debit card which was used to pay for your yorkcarrental.com Pay Now reservation.

There are no refunds for early returns.

If the vehicle receives traffic violations/parking tickets/toll charges during the rental period, you will be responsible for full payment of the fine as well as an AED 50 Service charge plus taxes. This includes but is not restricted to parking offenses, speeding fines, traffic signal offenses, toll road charges and etc. The renter agrees to reimburse the fees of any collection agency, which may be based on a percentage at a maximum of 50% of the debt, and all costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees incurred in such collections efforts.

Other

On the day of the reservation, vehicles are held for 1 hour after the reserved arrival time. After the 1 hour window; you will be considered a no-show and we may not be able to honor your reservation. We kindly ask you to notify our agency in case of a flight delay, your cooperation will help us to manage your booking accordingly.

If you have booked with yorkcarrental.com directly, please use our "View or Cancel Reservation" page to cancel your reservation. yorkcarrental.com does not charge a cancellation fee on Pay Later reservations but does request a cancellation notice as soon as your travel plans have changed. You can cancel your York Car Rental booking up to 30 mins before the scheduled collection time. If your reservation was confirmed through our broker partners, please use the same source to cancel your reservation. Some brokers may charge for the cancellation of a reservation if not canceled within a specific time frame. Cancellation of a reservation directly through York Car Rental, when confirmed through our broker partners, may not relieve your responsibility with that broker. In order to avoid charges (cancellation fee or penalty), check with the broker and cancel the reservation directly with them.

All the rental agreement extensions have to be done over the phone or via Contact Us page or in person. Please note that Combining new reservations to rent for a longer period is not permitted. New online reservations for extensions will not be honored. Rental agreements cannot be extended beyond 30 days. If you need to rent a vehicle for a longer period of time, you must go to the location prior to the 31st day and renew the rental agreement in person. The rate booked is guaranteed for the original duration of the reservation.

Rental is based on a 24-hours period. The client receives 1 hour grace period. If he/she keeps the vehicle any longer; an extra daily rate will apply from minute one.

The featured vehicles that are displayed for each car class on the yorkcarrental.com website or partner’s booking websites are representing the type of vehicle that may be available at the time of pick up. We do not guarantee the make or model of the rental vehicle will be offered or available at the time of pick up, due to fleet variances in availability or other reasons.

We maintain a clean, sanitized, and strictly smoke and pet-free fleet. Excess dirt, Smoking of any kind (cigarette, cigar, pipe, etc.), or pets is strictly prohibited in our rental vehicles. You will be assessed a cleaning fee of up to AED 500.00 if the vehicle is returned smelling of smoke of any kind and littered with ashes, pet’s hair, and excess dirt.

Upon drop off and handover of the vehicle at any of the branches the shuttle will drop you at the airport terminal 1 or 2. Please allow up to 30 min for the driver and shuttle to be available in addition to the driving time between the airport and the branch location.

Renter Qualifications

For the United States, U.S. Territories, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, and New Zealand the customer must present a valid, Full, unexpired government-issued Driver’s license which includes a photograph of the customer along with a copy of passport at the time of the rental.

Renters from other than the above countries must have a valid driver’s license from the renters/driver's country of origin with the English alphabet and must have a valid international driver's license if the driver's license of origin is not from the above list.

Other requirements, Photocopies of Driver’s Licenses are not accepted, Learner’s Permits are not accepted. Temporary Driver’s Licenses may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customer’s identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional Government-issued identification may be required. Digital licenses are not accepted. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. The minimum age to rent a car is 23 years old subject to the underage fee of AED 100 / D. Addition driver(s) can be added at the time of the rental. Additional driver(s): AED 30 /day, per driver.
