Location Policies

Additional Drivers

Any additional authorized drivers must meet age and driver's license requirements. An additional charge of $3.00/day for each additional driver will be added to the cost of the rental.

Coverages

We offer a damage waiver starting at $21.80/D; LDW (Loss Damage Waiver) this coverage exonerates the customer from damages and losses of the vehicle as long as the terms of JOEL CAR RENTAL are complied with. This coverage is offered with excess. Coverage with excess, the client is responsible for covering up to a certain amount, and after that amount, the difference is charged to the company. CDW coverage does not cover damage caused to third parties.

This includes damage and collision caused by other vehicles or moving objects. It is an excellent option to enjoy the rental of your vehicle without worry.
It is important to know that the coverage offered by insurers is void in cases in which the person renting the car has shown negligence in the use of the vehicle (for example, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, loading the wrong fuel, etc.)

ALI (Additional Liability Insurance), is civil liability coverage in case of damage to third parties. As long as they are under the terms and conditions of JOEL CAR RENTAL.
T&W (Tires and Windshield), this protection exempts the customer from liability for damage to tires or glass during the rental period with zero (0) deductible for repairs or replacement of the same. As long as they are under the terms and conditions of JOEL CAR RENTAL.

Driving Restrictions

We do not allow our cars to be taken beyond the national or international border (Haiti).

Financial Policy

At the time of rental, we require a pre-authorization deposit of $200-$1,800. These funds will no longer be available for immediate use and may take up to 5 business days or more, depending on your bank, to become available. We do not accept stored value/prepaid/gift or debit cards. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Diners Club.

All Yorkcarrental.com Pay Now reservations are non-refundable. If you cancel your Pay Now reservation at yorkcartental.com, you will forfeit the full amount of your reservation payment. At the time of pickup, you must present the same credit/debit card that you used to pay for your Pay Now reservation at yorkcarrental.com.

There are no refunds for early returns.

Unless otherwise specified, rates are quoted in (USD).

On the day of the reservation, vehicles are held for 2 hours after the reserved arrival time. After the 2-hour window; it will be considered a no-show and we may not be able to honor your reservation.

If your reservation was confirmed directly with the yorkcarrental.com website, please use our View or Cancel Reservation page to cancel your reservation. Yorkcarrental.com does not charge a cancellation fee on Pay Later reservations but requests cancellation notice as soon as your travel plans change. You can cancel your York Car Rental reservation up to 24 hours before your scheduled pick-up time. For cancellation of Pay Now Reservations made on our website, please see the Pay Now Reservations section below.

If your reservation was confirmed through our broker partners, please use the same source to cancel your reservation. Some brokers may charge for the cancellation of a reservation if it is not canceled within a specific period of time. Cancellation of a reservation directly through York Car Rental, when confirmed through our broker partners, may not relieve your liability to that broker. To avoid charges (cancellation or penalty), check with the broker and cancel the reservation directly with him.

All rental agreement extensions must be made by phone or through the Contact Us page or in person. Please note that combining new reservations to rent for a longer period is not allowed. New online reservations for extensions will not be accepted.

Rent is based on a 24-hour period. The client receives a grace period of 2 hours. If you keep the vehicle longer; an extra daily rate will apply from minute one.

Featured vehicles displayed for each car class on the Yorkcarrental.com website or partner reservation websites represent the type of vehicle that may be available at the time of pickup. We do not guarantee that the make or model of the rental vehicle will be offered or available at the time of pickup due to variations in fleet availability or other reasons. We will provide you with this model or a vehicle similar in size and engine type that is the same as the vehicle shown on our website.

We maintain a clean, strictly smoke-free, and pet-free fleet. Excessive dirt, Smoking of any kind (cigarette, cigar, pipe, etc.), or pets is strictly prohibited in our rental vehicles. You will be charged a $100.00 cleaning fee if the vehicle is returned with a smoke odor of any kind filled with ashes, pet hair, and excess dirt.

Rental contracts cannot be assigned for a period of more than 30 days. If you need to rent a vehicle for a longer period of time, you must arrive at the location before the 31st and renew the rental agreement in person. The reserved rate is guaranteed for the original duration of the reservation.

If the vehicle receives traffic violations/parking tickets/toll charges during the rental period, you will be responsible for the full payment of the fine.

Refueling Policy

Vehicles must be returned at the same level as they were accepted at the time of pickup to avoid any additional charges.

Renter Qualifications

They must have a valid driver's license from the renter's country of origin. You must have a valid passport. Other requirements, photocopies of driver's licenses, and learner's permits are not accepted. Temporary driver's licenses may be refused if the rental location is unable to verify the customer's identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license.

The minimum age required is 20 years. The surcharge for children under 20 and 24 years of age is $15.00/day.
